Quality Improvement Advisor - Quality & Safety

As a Quality Improvement Advisor, you will serve as a primary liaison and coach for healthcare facilities, communities, or states experiencing unanticipated quality and safety concerns, focusing on just-in-time support and technical assistance to meet urgent, emerging needs.
You must live in Colorado, Idaho, or Iowa.
Approximate salary for Colorado: $91,201.50 - $96,268.25

Essential Functions
  • You will collaborate with local healthcare partners, systems, and providers (nursing homes, hospitals, and/or outpatient clinical practices) to rapidly respond to emerging issues, such as public health emergencies, natural disasters, and other critical situations.
  • You will analyze the challenge, support the creation of a quality action plan, coordinate a response, and report on progress.
  • You will bring deep knowledge of healthcare systems, emergency management, have experience in quality improvement methodologies, and strong relationship-building skills to effectively engage with partners and providers across the healthcare continuum while ensuring alignment with both state and federal healthcare quality objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, public health, or a related field, required or equivalent experience (i.e. 10 years healthcare experience, associate's degree with 5+ years' experience, etc.).
  • Healthcare quality improvement experience required.
  • In-depth Knowledge of the principles of primary care, hospital, and/or nursing homes and quality improvement methodologies and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with c-suite, clinicians, administrators, and other health professionals.
  • Exhibit the capacity to respond swiftly and effectively to dynamic and time-sensitive situations, strategically manage operational priorities, and deliver consistent, resilient leadership when facing complex challenges.
  • Ability to coach and facilitate improvement activities with providers and partners, providing technical assistance in designated subject matter expertise or setting-specific areas.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Master's degree in public health, quality improvement science, health informatics, or related field.
  • Licensed RN, LPN, MSW, or CPHQ.
  • Course work in emergency management, criminal justice, business, public safety, public administration or related field preferred (including FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, and ICS-800)
  • Familiarity with Emergency Preparedness Plans
  • Proven experience in supervising and mentoring multidisciplinary teams, including QIFs or equivalent roles.
  • Proven ability to manage project timelines, meet deadlines, and produce detailed written reports.
  • Knowledge of federal and state emergency management frameworks (NIMS, ICS).
  • Experience in translating complex data into actionable insights and meaningful narratives for multidisciplinary teams, including clinical and non-clinical audiences.
