Overview (Scope of Role)

The Run Plant Engineer (RPE) is mainly responsible for running the plant safely and reliably to produce product within customer specification. Working with other support functions, Activity Coordinator, and operations the RPE should identify opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and waste reduction to be executed within budget boundaries, and execute improvement plan to deliver plant performance improvement in term of EHS, Quality, and Productivity.



Responsibilities

    Oversee daily plant operations to insure the safe, reliable, and high quality production in the latex plant.
  • Supports plant roles in procedure usage, creation, reviews, updates and approvals.
  • As required, communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel, Technology or Expertise centers.
  • Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and control technology. Works with Technical Advising and plant personnel to optimize operations to meet Business and plant goals. (EH&S, Production, cost, quality, energy, reliability).
  • Works with Process Automation Role to ensure process control is optimized in the facility.
  • Participates in advanced trouble shooting and root cause investigations.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the day to day decision making for the operating area of responsibility.
  • As required, participates on and leads teams in area of accountability.
  • Networks with other engineers on site and within the business to leverage knowledge on plant operations.
  • Ensures MET is understood and utilized.
  • Ensures Operating Discipline / ODMS requirements are met and include appropriate MET (Most Effective Technology).
  • Implements best practices to optimize operations.
  • Exhibit thorough understanding of plant operations and participate in plant On-Call rotation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
  • 3+ years in engineering field (experience in chemical production and manufacturing is preferred)
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
