Safety Sensitive Position WC - 9102

Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to oversee the daily operation and scheduled work of maintenance crews for the Brazos River Authority (BRA). This is accomplished by overseeing maintenance crews; planning, scheduling and prioritizing all work performed by the maintenance department; overseeing operations and maintenance of public use areas; and ensuring adequate equipment and supplies are available when needed. Responsibilities include maintaining a safety-oriented workplace; overseeing heavy equipment operation; overseeing construction activities; facilitating employee training; purchasing equipment, tools and materials for projects; maintaining records and reports; monitoring; and providing input into the budget. Other duties include interacting with other supervisors, contractors, county employees, and the public; supporting other BRA maintenance departments; being on call and available to work when required including working some weekends and holidays; operating flood gates; providing various maintenance to the BRA facilities, dams, and property; and any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



  • Minimum ten years or an equivalent combination of education
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and Good Driving Record
  • Preferred: Class A CDL Driver's License


  • High School Plus Vocational Training - Obtained with advanced study or training past high school.

STARTING SALARY RANGE

$94,692 to $123,264 annually. This is an exempt position.

The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage, and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
