Your Role: Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced

This role is perfect for individuals looking to enhance their skills in construction materials testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other relevant materials while gaining additional industry certifications. As a Construction Materials Engineering Technician based out of our New Albany, Indiana location, you will spend most of your time outdoors, participating in projects and ensuring their integrity and safety. Your contributions will be recognized as you witness projects come to life and gain valuable expertise.

What You'll Do:



  • Project and Document Analysis: Comprehend project specifications before fieldwork; precisely document observations and test outcomes related to construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, and other relevant materials.
  • Metafield Application: Effectively handle data using field and lab information systems.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Verify that field and laboratory equipment are precise and comply with industry standards.
  • Special Inspection Monitoring: Adhere to International Building Code (IBC) guidelines for testing and inspecting construction materials.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Communicate with supervisors, contractors, and clients to report on project status and address any issues.



What We're Looking For:



  • A High School diploma/GED
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials
  • Two(2) or more active certifications:

    • American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician
    • International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)


  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • Math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure



What to Expect:

With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).



  • Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions
  • Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours)
  • Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment
  • Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites
