POSITION SCOPE

The Transportation Assistant will enjoy a high volume, fast-paced work environment, with a lot of moving parts, in a welcoming atmosphere. The primary responsibility in this role will be assisting the Transportation Director and truck drivers within the transportation department. The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Compile weekly company transportation reports
  • File quarterly & annual federal and state tax reports relating to transportation
  • Maintain fuel & mileage reports as required for federal and state tax reporting and for Prorate and IFTA fleets
  • License and title vehicles with state motor carriers
  • Track expiring vehicle licenses and renew accordingly
  • Input title information, vehicle and trailer licensing information into eCMS (company accounting system)
  • Payroll: Code and enter timecards for the ND Transportation & Maintenance departments
  • Verify hours of service and driver logs using Pedigree/LYTX
  • Manage Pedigree/LYTX (electronic driving logs)
  • Code receipts, verify and reconcile monthly credit card statements
  • Provide equipment information to Montana & Wyoming for property tax & special state licensing
  • Assist with the hiring of new drivers
  • Train drivers on proper paperwork and driver's logs
  • Heavy haul single trip permitting support
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS



  • 1-3 years of transportation experience is preferred, but not required
  • Detailed oriented & accurate with numbers and reports
  • Self-motivated & organized - prioritize workload
  • Able to Communicate orally and in writing
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office - Word & Excel
  • Ability to navigate state and federal websites
  • Work well with others
  • Able to manage confidential information
  • Knowledge in Federal DOT and FMCSA Regulations regarding hours of service, fuel & mileage Reports, IFTA tax reports is preferred, but not required
