POSITION SCOPE

The Equipment Operator position is designated as safety sensitive, emphasizing the importance of adhering to safety protocols at all times. The operator must be proficient in operating machinery such as loaders, dozers, and track hoes in accordance with project specifications to ensure efficient and compliant operations. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for the daily servicing and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained throughout the project duration.

The equipment operator will need to be highly skilled in navigating and operating machinery in mountainous terrain, which presents unique challenges such as steep slopes, uneven surfaces, and potential for landslides or loose soil. Proper training in mountain-specific safety protocols, equipment handling, and environmental considerations is essential to ensure safe and efficient operations in this rugged environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Operate equipment efficiently to maintain production goals
  • Assist with setup and tear down of plants
  • Perform general maintenance, repair, and service equipment as required or directed by supervisor
  • General housekeeping of equipment and plant daily or as directed by supervisor
  • Individuals must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. on a regular basis
  • The use of a shovel to move material will be necessary
  • Perform all duties within safety guidelines set up by M.S.H.A. and company policy
  • Perform pre-shift inspections on equipment prior to startup
  • Perform other duties as assigned



REQUIREMENTS



  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1-year experience with loaders, dozers, and track hoes
  • Must hold an M.S.H.A. 5000-23 certificate
  • Able to operate equipment efficiently to maintain project specifications
  • Team player
  • Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenance
  • Basic knowledge of welding and using a cutting torch
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends if required
