Position Overview:

To ensure that quality requirements are established, recognized, and adhered to within the given department. He/she will be required to provide quality/process control measurements, provide analysis of that data and make improvements.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Tracks and reports on quality related metrics, investigating trends and coordinating corrective action items.
  • Investigate external quality issues working with customers and internal groups to determine root cause and correction action following an 8D format.
  • Conducts audits and performs troubleshooting of processes to ensure compliance to company standards and specifications. Coordinate correction actions if necessary.
  • Develop quality methods and procedures.
  • Assist with the training employees on quality requirements.
  • Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of quality and reliability.
  • Investigates and initiates internal delay reporting of quality issues.


Position Requirements:



  • Must demonstrate superior product knowledge and print reading skills along with the ability to use numerous measuring devices.
  • Two (2) years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Five (5) years of production manufacturing experience is required including knowledge of fabrication, welding, assembly, painting, and finishing.
  • Must successfully complete a NDT VT&MT certification course and be willing to complete any additional training as provided and required.
  • Must have the ability to gather and analyze statistical data.
  • Working knowledge of software programs including but not limited to: AS400, Shop Control programs, Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both one-on-one and with cross-functional groups is a necessity.
  • Must have good leadership skills and the ability to lead diverse teams.
  • Flexibility in work schedule is a necessity. Candidate must be available for movement to alternative shifts as needed to provide training, maintain quality, operator follow-up and investigate issues.


Physical/Mental Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Functions of the Position:

Normal standing, bending, walking and lifting associated with a manufacturing environment. Must be able to verbally communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Some travel may be required.
