INVISTA is seeking a Production Managerto provide leadership and presence at our Seaford, DEsite. The Production Manager provides leadership and strategic direction by building a partnership with front-line leadership and collaborating with business partners to develop and mentor the production team relating to safe, stable, and reliable operations.

Our Team

Since 1939, the INVISTA Performance Solutions Seaford site continues to be a world class manufacturing facility with ~ 135 employees, which manufactures Nylon 6,6 staple fiber.As part of the site Leadership Team, this position reports directly to the Operations Manager of the Seaford facility.The Production Manager must be able to embrace and lead change, possess strong people skills and the ability to use influence to get work done, enjoy working in a manufacturing environment and interacting with multi-functional teams, and efficiently balance multiple priorities. The position requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences. The successful candidate must also lead by example, be initiative-taking, possess strong analytical skills, exhibit sound decision-making, and have proficient organizational skills.

What You Will Do

  • Build and develop capability of on-shift personnel
  • Lead as a business partner with Manufacturing Engineers in their respective areas
  • Ensure safety and environmental ownership and compliance
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions and acts, recognizing positive safety performance as well as individual and team contributions to a safer workplace
  • Lead operational and shift maintenance initiatives in accordance with the Asset Strategy to achieve maximum asset capability
  • Provide feedback and coaching: appraising performance and providing feedback as needed to further employee development
  • Assist in resolving complaints and issues; hold employees accountable in a fair and consistent manner and communicate issues and results daily
  • Act as a positive change agent for continued transformation and improvement
  • Develop and foster an environment where trained employees are contribution motivated and empowered to make timely decisions in their scope of work

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Three (3) or more years' experience in a managerial/supervisory role with direct reports in an industrial, manufacturing, or military environment
  • Experience developing production goals
  • Experience with reliability systems and work processes
  • Microsoft Office experience including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
  • Experience in managing product systems
  • Experience in a multi-shift production site
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in manufacturing discipline (Manufacturing Management, Operations Management, Industrial) or Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Systems)
