Arkema Inc. has an opening for a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager on our Raw Materials and Energy Purchasing team. This position responsible for direct material purchases for a specified portfolio in the Americas region. This role is responsible for formulating and executing purchasing strategies to manage risk, availability, and quality of raw materials at the lowest total cost of ownership. The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager routinely works with regional and global business leaders, supply chain management, finance, manufacturing, engineering, R&D, and others to ensure alignment of projects/activities with Procurement goals and objectives. Travel may be required for meetings with internal and external stakeholders. This could include quarterly or as-needed trips to visit BU clients, familiarize yourself with associated manufacturing plants, visit the corporate headquarters to meet with the DAMPE team, and potentially meet with suppliers. Additionally, travel may be necessary for industry events and to manage supplier relationships. The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager reports to the Director of Procurement for Specialties and Packaging. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Sourcing
- Conducts comprehensive supplier analysis and screening (strategic direction, financial due diligence, market position, power within industry, capabilities & capacity, risk assessment) and develops strategies for their portfolio with business partners.
- Develops and implements global strategic sourcing strategies for designated spend categories.
Executes the strategies in North America. Serves as Global Strategic Sourcing Coordinator for Methacrylic Acid and Specialty Methacrylates, Mitsubishi, and LXMMA.
- Negotiates and implements commercial agreements and contracts catered to supply situations and ensures that they are aligned with a strategy to ensure business continuity through the agreements.
- Supports and guides members of the global direct materials purchasing teams and key BU stakeholders to analyze complex supplier proposals, while using decision-making tools and models, including financial and non-financial criteria, to facilitate award recommendations.
- Creates and maintains pricing models and predictive models for feedstock and other key cost drivers for all key materials. Forecasts raw material price evolution. Forecasts raw material price evolution.
- Establishes and implements strategies for negotiating commodity purchasing agreements based on in-depth knowledge of global and domestic markets for optimum pricing and terms.
- Supports the development of new products through early involvement with the BU, Engineering and R&D on alternative identification and supply agreement negotiations.
- Develops and maintains high and wide relationships with vendors (and contractors as appropriate) to ensure good, reliable sources of supply and information. Supports Arkema/Bostik Sr. Management interactions in support of strategic initiatives.
- Reviews and revises supply agreements with support of the Law Department. Validates contracts according to their DOA (Delegations of Authority).
Purchasing Liaison to Coating Solutions Downstream in North America
- Represents Purchasing as the Primary Purchasing Liaison for the Coating Solutions Downstream Businesses in North America including ACR, SLR & PWD, RSA, and Sartomer.
- Participates in ACR Downstream Business Team Meetings, sharing raw material market insights, representing Purchasing strategies and initiatives, and providing Purchasing perspectives on Business strategies. Shares key Business information within Purchasing.
- Contributes to S&OP processes to ensure adequate raw material supply in line with Business sales and manufacturing plans.
Raw Material Project Management
- Leads cross-functional Raw Material Risk Management teams to identify and reduce supply risk.
- Develops and implements savings projects aligned with business strategy.
- Influences key stakeholders within the BUs to secure resources in support of risk mitigation, savings projects, and sourcing strategy
- Supports the development of new products through early involvement with the BU, Engineering and R&D on alternative identification and supply agreement negotiations.
Tactical Purchasing
- Facilitates monthly and quarterly price negotiations to ensure optimal global spending, aligning with our global strategy.
- Resolves delivery and quality issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.
- Guides and mentors local buyers in managing supplier relationships.
- Performs monthly analytics on Purchase Price Variance and estimates annual spend for each commodity, using these insights for business planning, strategy development, and negotiations.
- Monitors business spending and forecasts to ensure compliance with Global Sourcing Strategies.
- Supports the Working Capital initiative by working with suppliers to increase payment terms and decrease lead times, while working with the business to optimize inventory levels.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Procurement, Sales, and/or Technical Development.
- Minimum of 7 years working in chemical industry.
- Minimum of 5 years of global or multi-regional experience in Procurement or in Business or Sales.
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in chemistry, chemical engineering, or relevant technical equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
- Experienced in financial KPI and purchasing impact on P/L.
- Broad technical expertise, business and industry knowledge, and process and people leadership capabilities.
- Significant track record of savings achieved through innovative procurement programs and tactics.
