Inova Center for Personalized Health is looking for a dedicated Senior Patient Financial Service Business Analyst to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift from Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. ; Hybrid The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Business Analyst Sr supports the development and implementation of reporting for all aspects of Payment Card Industry (PCI) Management through Patient Access Services (Front-End), Health Information Services (Middle), and Patient Financial Services (Back-End). This role is responsible for helping prepare and review reporting documents and deliverables. The PFS Business Analyst Sr is responsible for learning all reporting offered by the team and covering reporting when business analysts are unavailable. The PFS Business Analyst Sr is responsible for assisting with initiatives related to new go-lives and is on-site at facilities as projects require. This position leads meetings, prepares agendas, and takes notes; manages schedules, arranges assignments, and communicates progress to all team members and people leaders; and uses multiple systems to produce deliverables. The PFS Business Analyst Sr leads the annual PCI assessment, manages the inventory of all credit card machines at Inova, and leads the charge on credit card security. Works with multiple departments, including IT Security, Front End operations, Cash Posting, Credit Team, and Customer service teams. Senior PFS Business Analyst Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares reporting documents, quality assurance documents, training documents, workflows, standard work, and visual media for the team.
- Provides support for the development, implementation, and documentation of reporting.
- Collaborates with team members for process improvement suggestions.
- Leads meetings, prepares agendas, and takes notes; manages schedules, arranges assignments, and communicates progress to all team members and people leaders.
- Informs and consults with team members, people leaders, and stakeholders about potential barriers that impact team results.
- Ensures assigned projects and work queues are completed in a timely manner.
- Manages over 1000 credit card machines.
- Leads annual PCI assessment.
- Assists with department go-lives.
- Trains new team members how to take credit card payments in the Epic cash drawer for both pre-service collections and post-service collections. This includes end-of-day balancing of cash drawers.
- Works with IT for LAN drops when new departments are set up to install the credit cards and connect to the network. This includes going on-site, often in the evenings or weekends, to show IT where credit card machines need to be connected to the network.
Senior PFS Business Analyst Job Requirements:
- Work Schedule: 8-hour shift (Monday - Friday days, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) ; Hybrid
- Education: Bachelor's degree or an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience: 5 years of experience in revenue cycle, quality assurance, finance, customer service, data analytics, system analytics, information technology, hospital billing, or physician billing
Senior PFS Business Analyst Job Preferred Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of hospital billing systems, payer reimbursement methodologies, claim adjudication, and denial management practices.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Epic Reporting).
- Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives across patient access, billing, or collections, with measurable financial outcomes.
- PCI certification (e.g., PCIP, QSA, ISA) or experience working in PCI-compliant environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare compliance, revenue cycle integrity, and secure financial data handling best practices.
