Job Description

The Senior Manager, Hotel Technology is a key member of the Corporate IT team in Dallas, TX and is responsible for product management of various hotel technologies. This role works closely with hotel operations and corporate business units serving as the product subject-matter expert presenting new products and new feature enhancements for guest experiences and operational efficiencies. This role manages product implementation and is responsible for fostering vendor partnerships. Additionally, the Senior Manager provides oversight to the entire Hotel Technology group for critical internal processes as they relate to delivering high quality services in a clear and effective manner.

This role is based in Dallas, TX in the corporate office.



Responsibilities

    Directs the Product Management program, including documentation requirements, stakeholder check-ins, and guides operational standards.
  • Drives the project management lifecycle with a focus upon quality assurance, acceptance, and handover processes.
  • Advocates for continuous product improvement to meet and exceed guest and associate experience expectations.
  • Manages hotel technology product solutions and vendor relationships.
    • Understands and documents current technical requirements (as prescribed by the vendor), e.g., server specs and configuration, database versions and configurations, workstation and peripheral requirements, etc.
  • Creates product roadmaps, functionality and standards documentation with collaboration from Hotel Technology team members and relevant teams within the organization.
  • Provides budget guidance on operational costs and asset management.
  • Project manage deployment of technology upgrades and enhancements: Contract negotiation, resource management, invoicing, and support handoff.
  • Verifies project proposals submitted for consideration and ensures they adhere to product standards.
  • Works with hotel teams to assess product adoption and to schedule product upgrades.
  • Informs leadership of product trends in the hospitality industry.
  • Products within the Hotel Technology stack are listed below. The Senior Manager may be responsible for a subset of the following products:
    • Food & Beverage Point of Sale (POS) Systems
    • Retail POS and Integrations for Inventory Management
    • Activity Management Systems (Golf, Spa, Membership)
    • Door Locks / Access Control / Parking Systems
    • TV Platforms / Hardware
    • Employee Safety Devices
    • Digital Signage / Menus
    • Audio Systems
    • Safety and Security Systems
  • May require up to 50% travel.


Qualifications

  • Direct experience in hotel operations and the use of hotel technical products is highly preferred
  • Expert level experience with Simphony Cloud or Agilysys Golf/Spa/Member/Activity products is desired
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams at different reporting levels
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Associate's degree in a hospitality or technology related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of technology product and vendor management
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
  • Aptitude for innovation and the ability to present succinct product ideas to leadership
  • Understanding of vendor product roadmaps and their impact on technology strategies
