DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 1, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of the Hills Creek State Park Visitor Center, campground contact station, and launch area booth. You will act as the first point of contact for visitors, warmly greeting them, screening their inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate resources. Your responsibilities will include answering phone calls and providing essential information about the park and nearby attractions, thereby enhancing the visitor experience. Additionally, you will handle various administrative tasks such as processing fees, issuing permits, checking in and registering campers, and maintaining an organized brochure rack. This position will also require you to perform basic arithmetic calculations for payment processing, including making change and handling credit card transactions through the park's reservation system, as well as reconciling the cash drawer on a daily basis to ensure accurate financial records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.
  • Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Weekends, holidays and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
