Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation, the Senior Compensation Partner is an individual contributor responsible for supporting and executing Ingevity's key global compensation programs and serves as a consultant to HR and business leaders globally on a wide variety of compensation related topics. The Senior Compensation Partner will help shape compensation philosophy and maintain forward-thinking global compensation programs, designed to support Ingevity's business objectives and HR's people strategy to attract, motivate, and retain top talent.

This role ensures the integrity of Ingevity's compensation strategy and practices through execution of sound policy and practices for base pay administration and short-term incentives, with emphasis on job evaluations, salary recommendations, market benchmarking, and salary survey participation to ensure that our positions align to market and remain competitive. This position also ensures compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.

The Senior Compensation Partner plays a critical role supporting the HR function as the organization transforms into a more agile, scalable, and efficient as part of Ingevity's HR long-term plan.

How You Will Impact Ingevity:

  • Supports the strategic design and administration of all plans, programs, and processes for US and global employees, including base pay, short-term incentives, and annual compensation administration.
  • Researches and implements competitive, best practice pay policies and programs, including base pay and variable pay and recognition programs.
  • Executes benchmarking, salary survey selection and participation, and competitive analysis.
  • Work closely with the broader HR and Leadership teams to execute a strategy that delivers a competitive mix of cash and equity elements of total compensation and other workforce challenges such as attrition, in-demand skills, internal equity, starting salary rates, job leveling and market competitiveness.
  • Effectively communicate and provide education and training material to support compensation programs and processes.
  • Collaborate and execute on the design of the organization's short-term incentive bonus and ensure they are fit for purpose and market competitive.
  • Executes aspects of the annual compensation review processes, systems, and reporting. Lead the compensation reporting and analysis function to drive quality, data integrity, auditing, and accuracy for compensation programs and decisions.
  • Execute key processes and act as the subject matter expert to ensure effective coordination of all activities between talent management, payroll, HRIS, accounting, treasury, legal, and the vendor for all grant and vesting events.
  • Develop and implement effective communications for all compensation programs.

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in HR, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive compensation experience
  • Experience working for a publicly traded company, preferably in manufacturing
  • This role is on-site in Charleston, SC and eligible for relocation assistance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience and relevant experience in the design and implementation of effective global compensation concepts, principles, and processes, including job evaluation and leveling, market pricing and compensation administration
  • Ability to lead large-scale projects and possesses change management expertise
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage large data sets and resolve difficult problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to resolve disputes effectively
  • Independent decision-making, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and act on financial information and external trends that contribute to business profitability
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a global team environment, with a demonstrated ability to establish and manage a complex network of key stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures
