Position description

Professor Jodi Quas and the Adolescent and Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Lab at the University of California, Irvine, are currently accepting applications for a for a Project Director to join their research team. The candidate selected for this position will primarily assist on the "My life and My Experiences Project", which is an NICHD-Funded project on acute stress, rumination, and memory in adolescents in Orange County. Dr. Quas and her research team are evaluating how adolescents with diverse life experiences talk about their experiences, and what characteristics predict their recounting abilities.

The candidate selected for this position may also be involved with complex analyses for the Tracking Exploitation and Assisting Minors (TEAMS) project, which involves developing a database of suspected minor victims of exploitation and documenting the types of services they receive from the courts, social services, and local non-profit service providers.

Dr. Quas and the ACEs Lab are seeking a highly-motivated individual with extensive quantitative experience utilizing various advanced analytic techniques appropriate for longitudinal data, and multi-level modeling. Experience assessing social and relationship variables (e.g., daily dairy); collecting, assaying, and analyzing salivary biomarkers; and working with children exposed to adverse life experiences, is also required. Preferred experiences include research focused on multicultural developmental science.

Note that the final approval for this position is based on the availability of external funding.


Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

  1. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in psychology, criminology, or a related field.
  2. Experience working with child and adolescent populations.
  3. Experience writing/publishing academic papers and/or grants.
