Position Summary

The Data Center Engineering Intern role is a unique opportunity for a current electrical engineering major to gain hands-on experience in data center operations, focusing on electrical and cooling systems. You'll work alongside seasoned engineers to support the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of our data center's critical infrastructure. This position is perfect for someone eager to bridge classroom knowledge with real-world applications while growing under expert mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with onsite tasks related to electrical and mechanical infrastructure, guided by senior engineers.
  • Monitor the performance of power distribution systems and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) units to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Help document system configurations, maintenance logs, and incident reports.
  • Participate in basic troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues related to electrical and cooling systems.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on small-scale projects to enhance data center reliability and efficiency.
  • Engage in training sessions to deepen your understanding of data center operations and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, such as power distribution and circuit design.
  • Some familiarity with thermodynamics or HVAC systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward learning in a dynamic environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Comfortable following directions while showing initiative under supervision.
