Fillauer is seeking a Planning and Procurement Manager to lead our U.S. operations planning and procurement team to the next level of performance and efficiency. This role will play a critical part in aligning supply chain strategy with business objectives, optimizing processes, and ensuring timely, cost-effective procurement and inventory management. The Planning and Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, identifying new potential suppliers, monitoring market trends, and overseeing the preparation and processing of purchase orders and documents. The Planning and Procurement Manager will also lead, coach, and develop members of the planning and procurement teams to build a high performing, motivated, and accountable workforce.



Your Impact

    Manage day-to-day activities of planning and purchasing team.
  • Supervision of purchasing team including approval of time and time-off requests, hiring, training assignments, performing check-in reviews and performance evaluations, and identifying staffing needs.
  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies.
  • Negotiating with suppliers for better pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Build and manage relationships with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms of service.
  • Monitoring market trends and analyzing price structures.
  • Overseeing the preparation and processing of purchase orders.
  • Conduct effective weekly meetings for planning and procurement teams involving other department managers as necessary.
  • Ensuring all projects and initiatives align with organization's goals and objectives.
  • Organize and schedule work to meet production requirements.
  • Maintaining communication between planning team and department managers to ensure the successful functioning of the business.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior leadership.
  • Developing and maintaining detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company.
  • Monitoring the levels of materials to ensure optimal stock is maintained.
  • Using software for inventory management to accurately track material flow.
  • Coordinating with other departments to forecast future material needs based on production schedules and orders.
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies between inventory records and stock levels.
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with department supervisors and managers to create detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and available capacity, including assigning tasks to and setting deadlines.
  • Communicate delays in due dates with customer service team.
  • Identify and resolve production delays and other issues that may impact production schedules.
  • Other tasks and projects assigned by senior leadership.


Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with proven experience with planning and purchasing in a manufacturing setting. (Required)
  • This role necessitates experience in people management and leadership. Qualified candidates must have demonstrated a history of successfully managing and developing teams.
  • Proven experience in materials management or a related field is required.
  • Strong proficiency in database management and/or relevant enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively handle supplier interactions and manage internal communications.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) can be advantageous.

A successful National Planning and Procurement Manager has experience leading and motivating teams and has a proven ability to foster a positive and productive work environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for this people management position. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and adept at forecasting and planning. These qualities ensure that the supply chain operates smoothly and efficiently, supporting the company's overall operational goals.

Pay range of ($90,000.00 - $115,000.00) + benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
