External Description Training & Human Performance Coordinator The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), the largest airline pilot union in the world and the largest non-governmental aviation safety organization in the world (representing over 79,000 pilots at 42 U.S. and Canadian airlines) seeks an experienced Training & Human Performance Coordinator for our Tysons (McLean), Virginia office. As an integral member of the Engineering & Air Safety (E&AS) department, the Training & Human Performance Coordinator serves as the staff focal point for the Training and Human Performance policy areas. As such, they provide expertise and support and coordinate activities in the areas of human performance, training, human factors, and others, as assigned; and, provide liaison between the Association and various government, industry, trade, and professional organizations related to these disciplines. Functions will also include related activities associated with the development and harmonization of regulatory standards worldwide. They also work closely with the ALPA Air Safety Organization (ASO) and its associated groups, as well as the other technical groups and Master Executive Councils (MECs) within the ALPA structure. Travel: Up to 20%; sporadically, travel, local and national, could be as much as 25% of the time. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. ALPA is a member-driven, staff supported, union with two internal professional unions.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; or, the equivalent combination of human performance and training, education and experience.

May also include occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and/or pushing and pulling or moving, e.g., to pack, unpack, and/or move cases. Occasionally required to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve binders, books, boxes, and files up to ten (10) pounds (lbs.). While on travel, could be responsible to move, raise, reach, and/or retrieve luggage weighing as much as 50 lbs. (Assistance may not always be available.)
