SEH-STUDENT RADIOLOGY TECH

General Purpose of Job:

Performs general radiology exams on emergency room patients, inpatients, and outpatients in accordance with physicians' orders. Performs all duties and responsibilities under the supervision of a registered radiology technologist.

Essential Duties:

This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.

1. Prepares patients for radiology examinations by explaining procedure to be performed and positioning patients so that targeted parts of the body can be properly imaged.
2. Performs general radiology exams and on emergency room patients, inpatients, and outpatients in accordance with physicians' orders.
3. Images and sends via PACs radiology exam cases to the radiologist in a timely manner.
4. Assists radiologist with specialized procedures as directed.
5. Prepares and documents all information in Epic for the completion of the exam and billing.
6. Performs a variety of clerical tasks including answering phones, assisting patients throughout the department as needed, and inputting patient information into the Epic medical record.
7. Assists with maintaining radiology equipment and radiology rooms; assists with performing quality control measures to assure all equipment is functioning properly.
8. Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of radiology supplies and assist technologists with keeping them stocked.
9. Transports patients to/from various departments within the Hospital as needed.
10. Attends staff meetings and in-service programs.
11. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, values, and customer service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
