Position Summary
Assist in the review and analysis of all repair business functions associated with the company's railcar repair services business unit:
- Key Performance Indicators: Understand and develop KPI metrics within the repair services business and related business integration efforts
- Inventory Analysis and review: Inventory spend tracking and trend analysis for opportunities to develop process improvements.
- Accounts Payable: Assist in the review of accounts payables in relation to capital asset management and plant requisitions to PO tracking activities.
- Accounts Receivable: Customer sales tracking and review of aging reports.
- Capital Fixed Assets: Assist our repair plants with project management pertaining to asset additions, disposals, transfers and monthly depreciation impacts. Track and report annual capital spending vs. budget.
- Cost Accounting: Review of material inventory movement and their COGS impact at the plants. Track plant activity pertaining to their "work in process" balances. Labor and material margin analysis.
- Maintenance Expense: Tracking of monthly expense's related to the vehicle fleet maintenance needs and other expense account review.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and report to the Director of Business Analytics - Repair Operations and executive management monthly profit/loss results and perform variance analysis.
- Budgeting: Assist in the annual capital and operating budget process. Develop capital spending plans, determine optimal employee headcounts, sales revenues and overhead spend projections. Utilize KPI's to support budget build out and strategic initiatives within the company.
- Forecasting: Coordinate with finance/accounting team, plant management and Operations team to develop forecasts for repair ledgers.
- Special Assignments: Role will occasionally be required to perform special assignments that can include, but will not be limited to annual hourly wage scale increases, insuring compliance with established internal control procedures and providing supporting documentation for financial audits. Ad-hoc reports as needed by the leadership teams. Assist with the implementation of policy changes and provide training to plant staff when necessary.

- Leadership skills - people management, meeting facilitation, presentation, and customer support
- People skills - customer oriented, positive attitude, and team participation
- Exceptional organization and time management skills are required with an emphasis on an attention to detail
- Intermediate or higher skill level of Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Power BI experience a plus.
- Familiarity with standard ERP systems (SAP is a plus).
- Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset to proactively seek and collaborate on process improvement
Required Experience / Education / Training / Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, finance or business
2 to 3 years accounting experience or financial analysis
