Job Description

At Music & Arts, we are passionate about music education, and committed to supporting the educators teaching the next generation of musicians. Through our advocacy program, Be Part of the Music, we provide free resources to educators to help get and keep more students involved in music. From day one, you will be contributing to our mission by leading a team focused on supporting music educators.

We're now hiring engaging, servant minded leaders preferably with a background in Band & Orchestra and/or Music Education, as we continue to develop and grow our School Services team. This leadership position manages outbound sales representatives that maintain in-person educator relationships by visiting schools. These account management roles execute primarily B2B (institutional) sales and services by maintaining and developing a successful and profitable network of relationships. The School Services District Manager role orchestrates the successful execution of our market strategies to drive results, while creating and nurturing our culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect.

This is a remote position that covers Western, Central, and Upstate New York.

Essential Functions (not all-inclusive):

  • Recruit, interview, and hire Educational Sales Representatives
  • Manage and develop Educational Sales Representatives, supporting them to reach their potential
  • Establish market level schools and rental strategies while fostering a multi-channel sales culture
  • Manage and deliver results in rentals, sales, and educator relationship growth while maintaining direct relationships with key influencers
  • Drive the expansion of rental, sales, and educator support offerings in existing and new markets
  • Achieve revenue and EBITDA targets while managing P&L
  • Communicate results to leadership
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or 4+ years of equivalent work experience)
  • 4+ years of previous experience operating/managing in similar environments and/or 2+ years of supervisory or management experience leading teams
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Valid state driver's license and automotive insurance
  • Dependent on markets assigned, may require regular travel via automobile and/or air
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English

Preferences:

  • Bilingual; the ability to understand and to make oneself understood to all Spanish speaking individuals
  • Intermediate knowledge of Band and Orchestral instruments
  • 4+ years of supervisory management experience leading teams
