GENERAL SUMMARY

The Project Sales Specialist will be responsible for in-depth project cost analysis and executing project bidding tactics as assigned by the Municipal Sales Director. This position will also coordinate and analyze the Project Data Management System to plan and support sales reporting requirements. This individual will be required to demonstrate leadership with a forward-thinking approach and commitment to building a world-class service-oriented sales department.

This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK's hybrid work schedule.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Review project files and contact sales representatives to coordinate current bidding activity with the Director of Sales, Sales Managers, and VP of Sales as required.
  • Outline project duration regarding warranty and expected delivery requirements to increase margins and reduce financial risk. This includes planning for price/cost escalation and extended warranty charges.
  • Provide/create financial analysis for project bidding, which often requires estimating decisions and in-depth standard cost analysis from BOM research.
  • Maintain the project tracking system by logging project status in project database as required for future reference and prepare won/lost analysis.


Assist in project bidding as required per below:

  • Establish a clear understanding of DeZURIK's Municipal Sales strategy and competitors' product line offerings for project bid positioning.
  • Make decisions to approve, revise, or decline orders and discuss price levels with sales reps as required with guidance from Sales Managers based on profit analysis and market pricing.
  • Discuss and authorize pricing tactics with sales representatives as directed by Sales Manager.
  • Finalize bid documents by executing bonds, warranties and other bid conditions.
  • Provide procedural and tactical training for sales representatives and municipal sales team regarding bid processes.
  • Assist in negotiating final project pricing with sales representatives and customers as assigned by the Director of Sales.
  • Provide management support for achievement of bookings goals by maintaining records of project activity and follow-up to assure that monthly bookings are achieved.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum one year of sales, engineering or project management experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with people at all levels of business.
  • Decision-making abilities for preparing and executing bids and establishing price levels.
  • Basic computer skills for preparing spreadsheets.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
  • Position requires movement around the facilities.
  • Occasional handling of material and components.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots).

SALARY AND BENEFITS

DeZURIK offers a competitive base salary in the $64,680 to $80,849 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus opportunities tied to performance.
