PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, the Temporary Project Assistant will perform a broad range of administrative and clerical work Office of Risk Management. The Temporary Project Assistant will be responsible for providing assistance to the Director in implementing and documenting department procedures, assist in project development, and other duties as assigned.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the department in updating the internal and external webpages for Risk Management.

  • Assist with delivery and tracking of various training and compliance requirements including Workplace Violence Prevention, the Injury & Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), and the Heat Illness Prevention Plan (HIPP)

  • Assist the emergency management team including procuring, organizing and tracking inventory and creating and distributing safety resources throughout campus.

  • Assist with the development and distribution of concise job aids and standard protocols for safety-related matters, including, but not limited to natural weather events and risk management topics.

  • Review, recommend, and implement physical and digital file organization for the Risk Management department.

  • Aid in the implementation of PolicyTech by organizing and uploading documents into PolicyTech software.

  • Research and recommend project management approaches in Asana.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Individuals must possess knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ability to use WordPress program to update website.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of basic research methods used for data management.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Graphic design skills for use in creating flyers, resources, and presentations.

  • Ability to work independently and with team members.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Some college coursework or recent college graduate preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:

This is a temporary status, part-time (no more than 30 hours per week), non-benefits eligible, non-exempt position.

This temporary assignment is expected to begin on or after May 19, 2025 and end on or before June 30, 2025.

Hourly rate range: $19.00-$21.00. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None.
