About the Team

At OpenAI, we are dedicated to building safe artificial general intelligence (AGI) to benefit all of humanity. Our mission attracts the world's top talent in science, engineering, and business to address one of the most ambitious challenges of our times. The Recruiting team is at the heart of this mission, tasked with identifying and hiring exceptional individuals who align with OpenAI's values and cultural ambitions. Our approach to recruitment aims to set the standard for excellence and innovation in the field, connecting outstanding candidates with opportunities to impact the future of AI.

About the Role

As a Sourcer, you'll be at the forefront of scaling our Go-To-Market and G&A organizations, identifying and engaging exceptional talent across a diverse range of non-technical and customer-facing roles. You'll work across teams like Sales, Customer & Technical Success, Policy, Communications, Legal, Finance, and more-owning sourcing strategy and execution from end to end.

In this role, you'll act as a trusted partner to hiring managers and recruiters, build and refine search strategies, and help shape the future of how OpenAI engages with business talent. You'll help build out best practices for high-impact sourcing, nurture long-term talent relationships, and ensure candidates have a world-class experience at every stage of the funnel.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Act as the sourcing lead for a portfolio of GTM and G&A roles, driving strategic sourcing initiatives across teams like Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, Comms, and more.

  • Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand role requirements and deliver tailored sourcing strategies.

  • Conduct proactive talent mapping and market research to identify talent pools, industry trends, and competitive dynamics for critical hiring needs.

  • Build, manage, and nurture long-term pipelines of high-priority talent, engaging both active and passive candidates.

  • Deliver precision in search execution-crafting thoughtful outreach, identifying hidden talent, and surfacing the strongest matches.

  • Guide candidates through the top-of-funnel experience, acting as their primary contact from initial outreach to onsite interview stage.

  • Track and report sourcing metrics to inform strategy and improve effectiveness.

  • Represent OpenAI at external events and conferences to promote our mission and attract top business and GTM talent.

  • Contribute to sourcing best practices, tooling, and documentation across the recruiting team.

We're Seeking:

  • 5+ years of proven success sourcing for a wide range of non-technical and GTM functions (e.g., Sales, Customer Success, Policy, Legal, Finance, Comms, Operations).

  • Deep experience in crafting effective sourcing strategies at high-growth companies or top-tier tech environments.

  • Ability to juggle multiple high-priority roles while maintaining excellent attention to detail, strong organization, and care for candidate experience.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguous and fast-changing environments; you thrive when building from scratch.

  • A data-driven approach to prioritizing work and measuring sourcing effectiveness.
