We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director for Sales to lead and expand our sales team on the West Coast of the United States. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets within the government industry. This role would lead an existing team of sales representatives in the western region of the United States for the Courts and Justice Division of Tyler. You will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building, and managing a high-performing sales team, and driving revenue growth. Success will be measured by the total annual sales bookings and overall cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities
- Pursuit of opportunities for direct contracts with new customers in the courts and justice marketplace including courts, probation departments, prosecutors at local and state government.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Analyze market trends, identify new opportunities, and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Partner with VP of Sales and other divisional business leadership, marketing team and product strategy on marketing campaigns and go to market strategy.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on achieving results. Motivate territory sales reps and set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Accurately forecast sales revenue, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular reports to the VP of Sales on sales activities and progress.
- Oversee and optimize a sales pipeline to ensure consistent lead generation, qualification, and execution of deals. Implement best practices for pipeline management and sales processes.
- Along with business leadership, provide pricing assistance and strategy across multiple sales channels, including identifying emerging markets to find new sales opportunities.
- Work with sales leadership to develop, execute, optimize and sales enablement and to drive a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for all products within Courts & Justice.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Identify opportunities to differentiate our software solutions and gain a competitive advantage. Assist with defining and helping sales reps execute on territory sales plans.
- Coordinate with the proposal team to write responses to RFPs (Request for Proposals). Coordinate with the software demo team to plan for and execute solution demonstrations.
- Participate in key sales presentations and negotiations with strategic accounts. Provide guidance and support to the sales team in closing complex deals. Collaborate with a legal team to negotiate and finalize contract terms that are favorable to the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field
- Sales Experience preferred.
- Management of sales teams preferred.
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and software sales processes
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and people skills.
- Experience with CRM software and sales automation tools
- Open to frequent travel
- Proven ability to drive progress when given a multitude of challenges.
- Very strong partnering skills
