Dental Hygienist

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is excited to announce a potential opportunity for a Dental Hygienist to join our team supporting Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Unit Fallon (NMRTU Fallon) in Fallon, NV.

Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene
• Completion of a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program
• Passed the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination (NBDHE)
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted Dental Hygienist license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Certified in radiography per 42 CFR Part 75
• Experience as required to meet clinical competency and credentialing standards

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine patients for signs of oral diseases including oral cancer
• Expose and interpret dental radiographs
• Refer abnormalities to dental officer for evaluation
• Take patient blood pressure prior to treatment
• Perform subgingival scaling, root planing, curettage, and fluoride applications
• Provide oral hygiene education tailored to individual patients
• Supervise and train dental technicians
• Maintain patient treatment records and document progress
• Clean and sterilize instruments
• Treat necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis
• Assist with diagnostic sick calls and radiograph development
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area per clinic standards
• Optional: administer local anesthesia if credentialed

Work Schedule & Hours:

• Monday through Friday
• Shifts scheduled between 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• 8.5 to 9-hour shifts including a 30 to 60-minute uncompensated lunch
• No more than 80 hours per two-week period
