PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

No previous railroad experience is required! You will safely maintain the physical railway track within a specific territory in accordance with guidelines set forth by the FRA and CPKC.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Track maintenance and renewal work (working outdoors, in all weather conditions)
• Use of hand tools and small machines, operating track renewal equipment
• Standing, lifting, squatting for long periods and the ability to lift 50lbs or greater
• Typical schedule, Mon - Fri, 8-hour shifts
• Ability to travel

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED
• No previous Railroad experience is required, candidates with outdoor work experience are preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Mechanical proficiency
• Reliable transportation to and from work site
• Ability to perform physically work outdoors in all types of weather
• Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations, performing tasks in accordance with those rules

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.
