Job Description:

The Utilities Division has an opening for an Environmental Instrument Analyst in their Environmental Services Department.

Environmental Instrument Analysts (EIAs) operate, monitor, maintain, and repair Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and associated sub-systems in order to provide continuous, reliable, and accurate data for Utilities Division compliance with EPA and State air regulation requirements.

Operation of the CEMS includes, but is not limited to, daily calibrations and inspections, weekly inspections, quarterly diagnostic tests and inspections, and any additional tests and/or inspections as required by regulations or Title V air permits.

Other duties include instrument preventive maintenance, troubleshooting system problems, taking appropriate corrective action, performing required system repairs, and completing proper documentation.

Work schedule is rotating 12-hour shift, but day shift only.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for calibration of test analyzers and equipment to ensure accuracy of test results.
  • Responsible for data entry and integrity of various electronic data handling systems and data collection software programs.
  • Performs manual calibrations and routine maintenance on analyzers and analyzer systems.
  • Responsible for set up and operation of the appropriate sampling equipment as defined in the applicable state or federal regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining sampling equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license for operation of a company vehicle within and outside the plant perimeter.
  • Must be capable of clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess basic computer skills (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Internet)
  • Upon selection, the team member will be required to complete the EIA/PIA structured training program.
  • Must be willing to provide off-hours coverage with on-call duty.
  • This position requires moderate to high physical exertion for extended periods of time (in occasionally inclement conditions), including strenuous climbing of tall boiler stacks and other structures.

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully completed workkeys with the required levels for Eastman (exception for internal candidates hired prior to 2005):

    • Applied Mathematics - Level 6
    • Graphic Literacy - Level 5
    • Workplace Documents - Level 6
