The Senior Social Media Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies to increase brand awareness, engage donors and donor prospects, and achieve the organization's objectives. Works closely with a wide variety of stakeholders to create ROI-focused plans that drive event registration and donations. Should be passionate about the social media space and focused on current and emerging trends, both within the non-profit and consumer marketplace. Should be a collaborative and organized team player who can work with copywriters, designers, and video editors to produce outstanding creative work. Should be able to communicate clearly with stakeholders to convey the organization's social media priorities, plans and progress toward goals.

This Senior Social Media Specialist will:

  • Develop and implement paid and organic social media plans that follow industry best practices, identify key performance indicators and include opportunities for testing to achieve the Trust's goals and objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with graphic designers, writers and videographers to create engaging content and ensure creative assets are optimized for use on social.
  • Plan and schedule social media posts, ensuring consistent messaging, branding, and alignment with the hospital's standards and guidelines. Attend special events as needed to collect content for use on social.
  • Analyze campaign performance, optimize and share best practices across the team. Identify trends and share lessons learned about content and creative performance.
  • Provide strategic guidance to stakeholders to help them understand our marketing perspective and feel informed about how social media is contributing to their objectives.
  • Monitor social conversation and sentiment including content moderation. Respond to comments, messages and mentions on Trust-specific posts as needed. Escalate sensitive issues when required.
  • Manage and create a social media editorial calendar for Trust social media posts and all content shared on the Boston Children's Hospital Trust LinkedIn page. Work in close collaboration with colleagues across the organization to ensure that the Trust's efforts align with Hospital social media marketing efforts.
  • Maintain knowledge based on the latest tools, data and social media tactics being used by other non-profits.

To qualify, you must have:

  • BA degree in Marketing, Media, Digital Communications, Advertising or related field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong experience with social media strategy and content development.
  • Exposure to the healthcare and/or nonprofit industry would be helpful.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of marketing and promotion via high-profile communities on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media management and listening tools such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sprout, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills (written as well as verbal and interpersonal) as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other staff.
  • Strong attention to details and organizational skills
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
