Geomatics Manager

Acara Solutions is seeking a Geomatics Manager to join our client on a Full Time Direct Hire opportunity located in either Tampa, FL, Boca Raton, FL

• Lead and manage a team of survey professionals.
• Oversee hydrographic and land-based survey projects, including data collection, processing, and interpretation using multibeam and single-beam sonar.
• Assign staff and survey equipment for projects, and ensure delivery timelines are met.
• Support geophysics/geologic teams in data analysis and report development.
• Produce hydrographic maps, engineering/geohazard reports, and technical presentations.
• Act as Surveyor of Record on topographic and hydrographic surveys.
• Ensure quality, safety, and adherence to technical standards.
• Develop project plans and manage budgets and schedules.
• Participate in business development, proposal writing, and client presentations.
• Mentor junior survey staff and promote continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's in Hydrography, Geomatics, Geology, Geophysics, or Geological Oceanography
• 10+ years in multibeam sonar survey design, data collection, and analysis
• 10+ years using Hypack for marine hydrographic data

Preferred Skills

• Leadership and project management experience
• Strong skills in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Surfer, and Microsoft Office
• Willingness to travel and work in offshore environments
• Excellent communication, leadership, and scientific writing skills
• Experience integrating GPS, sub-bottom profilers, side scan sonar, and magnetometers
