Reporting to the US Regional Controller, the Finance Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including assigned staff, entering journals, managing Accounts Payable, using financial technology systems, and other finance-related administration. The Finance Manager ensures timely reconciliation and reporting of all financial statements and assists in the preparation of financial analyses for the US Regional Controller and other key stakeholders as requested. The Finance Manager assists in the completion of government reports, quarterly reviews, annual financial audits, the annual budgeting process, and quarterly forecasts.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for month-end close, including preparing journal entries and reviewing/approving journal entries prepared by staff.


  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of account reconciliations, including intercompany reconciliations.


  • Conducts variance analysis on general ledger accounts and identifies and resolves discrepancies.


  • Assists the Cost Accountant in preparing journal entries for inventory-related activities including absorption, material consumption and PPV. Assists in the investigation and analysis of manufacturing variances.


  • Supervises the preparation of certain local tax filings and state sales and use tax filings.


  • Supervises the accounting for capital projects, settlement and posting of monthly journal entries related to fixed assets and preparation of month-end schedules, including depreciation.


  • Supervises and oversees the Accounts Payable function, including preparation and approval of payment runs.


  • Assists with the preparation of the consolidated financial statements.


  • Supports the US Regional Controller with division and Corporate requirements.


  • Plans, designs and implements changes to reporting methodologies to improve the speed and accuracy of the closing cycle.


  • Committed to continued process improvement, business and system efficiencies.


  • Assists with providing data for purposes of estimating and budgeting costs for research and products development, projecting costs of new processes, construction and tooling.


  • Prepares quarterly and year-end audit schedules and assists and responds to audit inquiries.


  • Assists in responding to government reports and prepares supporting schedules.


  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.


  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA is a plus.


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in general and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment


  • Having 2-4 years' experience in public accounting in an audit role is a plus.


  • Advanced knowledge of Accounting principles and procedures.


  • Consolidation experience preferred.


  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills and must be detail oriented.


  • Must be proficient with Excel; experience with SAP or large ERP system preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).


  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.


  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
