Job Description

Visa Operations and Infrastructure (O&I) is looking for a Business Analyst with a strong focus on process improvement and Agile transformation to drive automation and efficiency within our organization. This role will be responsible for analyzing existing workflows, identifying opportunities for automation, and defining technical requirements to streamline operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Jira, Jira Align, AskNow, and databases, and should be comfortable generating basic SQL queries and code scripts to support data analysis and reporting.

This position will interact with business stakeholders, development teams, and Agile coaches to enhance productivity, improve tooling integrations, and support Agile transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement & Agile Transformation

  • Analyze current business processes and identify areas for automation and optimization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business problems and translate them into actionable technical requirements.
  • Support Agile transformation efforts by optimizing workflows in Jira and Jira Align to improve team efficiency and reporting.
  • Assist teams in leveraging AskNow and other automation tools to enhance decision-making and reporting.
  • Provide data-driven insights to measure Agile maturity and process efficiency.

Technical Requirements & Automation

  • Work closely with developers, product owners, and Agile teams to define and document technical requirements for automation solutions.
  • Create and modify SQL queries to analyze data, identify trends, and generate reports.
  • Write basic Python (or similar) scripts to automate data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy when integrating systems or automating workflows.
  • Support the development and testing of automation solutions by providing clear, detailed specifications.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Partner with business and IT teams to gather requirements, identify pain points, and recommend solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between business teams and developers to ensure successful implementation of process improvements.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations through presentations, reports, and dashboards.
  • Train and support end-users on new processes and automation tools.

Essential Skills

Technical

  • Basic SQL proficiency - ability to write queries to extract and analyze data.
  • Basic Python scripting - ability to develop simple scripts for automation and data manipulation or demonstrated ability in alternate coding languages
  • Experience working with Jira, Jira Align, AskNow, and databases.
  • Strong understanding of process mapping, automation, and data-driven decision-making.

Business & Agile Expertise

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, etc.).
  • Ability to define and document technical and business requirements for automation projects.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or BPMN.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Demonstrated understanding of architecture planning and infrastructure projects at scale
  • Experience with Agile frameworks including SCRUM, SAFe, and Lean
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (high proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint), MS Project, Clarity, Jira, MS SharePoint, MS Teams
  • Experience with Jira API, Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
  • Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), or Lean Six Sigma are a plus.
  • Proficiency with gathering and analyzing data with follow-on visualization and communication
  • Ability to communicate with development teams and senior stakeholders to gain support for delivering program solutions against a standardized methodology
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 92,300 to 130,650USD to per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
