Salary Range:$165,000-$375,000

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$375,000plus bonus eligibility and other elements of our total rewards package. The range represents the amount bnsf | tech reasonably expects to pay for the position based on the level, scope, and responsibilities of the role. Individual compensation and level of position offered is determined by the hiring location and additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.In addition to base pay, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will support and enhance SAP infrastructure across both cloud and on-premise environments. You'll contribute to the deployment, automation, and integration of SAP landscapes, including SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of systems. This role is ideal for engineers with several years of experience in SAP or cloud infrastructure who are looking to deepen their expertise in enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, and support SAP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, MaxDB, and MS SQL Server.

  • Contribute to the migration and deployment of SAP workloads to cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.

  • Support SAP BTP integration with SAP and third-party systems, working with services like SAP Integration Suite and SAP Analytics Cloud.

  • Implement automation scripts and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform or Ansible to manage SAP environments and assist with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Support database replication and real-time data movement using SAP SLT, Data Services, or SAP Data Intelligence under guidance.

  • Contribute to the implementation of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, SAP Cloud ALM) for system performance and availability tracking.

  • Apply SAP security practices including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and identity integrations such as SSO or SAP IAS.

  • Support SAP GRC Access Control processes (firefighter, ID management and access risk analysis.

  • Assist with periodic user access reviews, audit preparations and compliance reporting.

  • Perform day-to-day user provisioning, troubleshooting access issues and maintaining security roles based on business requirements

  • Collaborate with Basis, Security, Development, and Operations teams on infrastructure, security, and system updates.

  • Manage release schedules and coordinate transport deployments across SAP landscape

  • Enforce and improve SAP change and release management processes in accordance with ITIL and internal control standards.

  • Ensure accurate documentation fand audit compliance for all SAP transport activities.

  • Track and resolve transport-related issues, conflicts and dependencies in the SAP Landscape

  • Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and procedures for SAP systems and integrations.

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and integration issues across SAP landscapes with guidance from senior team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • I am CURRENTLY authorized to work in the US.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience

  • 4-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 2-3 years of SAP infrastructure or cloud-based systems experience.

  • Working knowledge of SAP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, and supporting databases.

  • Experience with public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-based deployment practices.

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible) and automation best practices.

  • Experience with SAP integration technologies or platforms (e.g., SAP Integration Suite, APIs, SLT).

  • Understanding of SAP security fundamentals and system monitoring.

  • Proficient in SAP ECC, S/4HANA, Fiori, BW and cloud-based SAP products

  • Deep understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), SoD principles and SAP audit controls.

  • Familiarity with SAP GRC Access Control or other access risk controls.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SAP Certified Technology Associate).

  • Experience with hybrid SAP landscapes and integrating cloud-native services with on-prem systems.

  • Exposure to SAP BTP services such as SAP Fiori, SAP Analytics Cloud, or SAP Document Management.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.

  • Hands-on experience with open-source monitoring or logging tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix).

  • Understanding of real-time replication or event-driven data architectures is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of SAP TMS, CTS and CTS+

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation and upgrade projects
