Position Overview

As a Stormwater Program Analyst I, you will work with the project team andour clients to achieve their goals for collaborative, creative, and effective stormwater programs.

Key Responsibilities



  • Work alongside local government, state government and other client types to create innovative and sustainable stormwater management programs
  • Strive to make McAdams a market leader in Stormwater Program management by applying creative problem solving for every project
  • Ensure that the Stormwater Program Practice delivers high quality products on time and within budget
  • Participate in strategic planning to grow the Stormwater Program Practice with new clients across all company metros
  • Be customer-oriented in all communications with clients, project stakeholders, regulators, teaming partners, and other operational groups within the company
  • Help facilitate public meetings, stakeholder group sessions, staff trainings for clients, public education events, and other needs clients may have for education, input, and outreach
  • Perform field work and site visits for studies and inspections
  • Analyze and update stormwater ordinances
  • Obtain and update new post-construction and NPDES stormwater permits
  • Demonstrate conscientious follow-through, attention to detail, and responsiveness in all tasks


Skills + Experience



  • Four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, Regional or Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
  • Experience working with or for a public agency in stormwater field
  • 1+ year of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships and trust among the stormwater professional community
  • Open and responsive to feedback


Work Environment + Physical Demands

  • Work will primarily be in an office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing, and grasping often with repetitive motion.
  • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
  • Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
