Pay Rate: $19.00/hour

Work Schedule: Expected hours range from 32 to 40 per week; 1 weekend per month is required.

This position is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act. All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan - must be 18 years of age to participate.

JOB SUMMARY:

Goodwill Staffing is seeking skilled job coaches to support career development and provide on-the-job assistance for individuals with disabilities. If you're compassionate, dedicated, and motivated to positively impact the lives of others, then this role is an ideal fit for you.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Engage clients and establish trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in company job settings with other workers who do not necessarily have disabilities.
  • Refer clients to benefits counseling, as needed.
  • Help clients report earnings, as needed.
  • Assess clients' vocational functioning on an ongoing basis utilizing background information and work experience.
  • Conduct job development and job search activities directed toward positions that are individualized to the interests and uniqueness of the people on your caseload, following the principles and procedures of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) supported employment.
  • Conduct a minimum of six (6) employer contacts per week to learn about the needs of businesses, describe supports offered by the program, and highlight client strengths relevant to the positions.
  • Provide individualized follow-along supports to assist clients in maintaining employment.
  • Participate in face-to-face meetings with vocational rehabilitation counselors at least once a month to coordinate services for clients.
  • Develop individual employment (and/or education) plans with clients.
  • Spend 65% or more of scheduled work hours in the community, meeting clients at various locations such as workplaces, coffee shops, potential employers, libraries, One-Stop centers, Vocational Rehabilitation (VR offices), family homes, or taking clients to apply for jobs or explore educational opportunities.
  • Responsible for achieving a minimum number of job starts per year or maintaining at least 60% employment on your caseload.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • An Associates Degree is required.


Experience:



  • 1 year of experience in Social Services programs and agencies that offer support and assistance to individuals and families in need.


Other:



  • Ability to spend 65% or more of scheduled work hours in the community, meeting clients at various locations such as workplaces, coffee shops, potential employers, libraries, One-Stop centers, VR offices, family homes, or taking clients to apply for jobs or explore educational opportunities.
  • Responsible for achieving a minimum number of job starts per year or maintaining at least 60% employment on your caseload.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Due to State and Client requirements regarding program participant 's safety additional background checks may be required.*
