Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivatedPower BI Developerto support advanced data visualization and analytics solutions for U.S. Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) initiatives. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable Power BI dashboards and reports that drive operational insights and strategic decisions across Navy programs. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in data modeling and business intelligence, with experience working in or supporting federal or defense-related environments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop interactive, visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports for Navy and DoD stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with and able to create solutions using Power Platform (Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint as well as Power BI.)
  • Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with DoD data governance standards.
  • Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, and program leads to define business requirements and transform them into effective BI solutions.
  • Create and maintain developer user guides, or other related development products in support of application development initiatives.
  • Implement efficient data models using DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL to support performance and usability.
  • Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and optimization for report reliability and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to cybersecurity and information assurance protocols, especially in handling CUI and classified data.
  • Document dashboard designs, data sources, and workflows in support of ongoing system maintainability and compliance audits.
  • Support Agile/Scrum processes and participate in sprint planning and review sessions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • Mid-level understanding of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
  • U.S. Citizen with anActive Secret Clearance (Final or Interim)
  • 2+ years of experience developing dashboards and reports inPower BIwithin a business or federal context.
  • Must possess working knowledge of SQL Reporting, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling concepts. (including workspace and dataset management).
  • Experience working with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable format.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Navy ERP, ADVANA, DEAMS, or other DoD systems and data environments.
  • Familiarity with federal data standards, including FISMA, NIST, and DoD CUI handling requirements.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory, Azure SQL).
  • Knowledge of Agile and DevSecOps best practices in federal environments.

Work Schedule: Remote, M-F (0800-1600)
