TITLE: Mechanical Technician B

POSITION OBJECTIVE: An Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment in manufacturing or processing facilities. This role ensures the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of production systems to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Able to obtain Water/Wastewater Operator Certifications (state-specific as required).
  • Proficient in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with welding (MIG/TIG), fabrication, and blueprint reading.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and precision measurement devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond to emergency calls.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Perform routine inspections on machines, tools, and equipment according to maintenance schedules.
  • Lubricate moving parts, replace filters, belts, bearings, and other consumables.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures
  • Repair or replace faulty components, including motors, pumps, gears, valves, and circuitry.
  • Use schematics, manuals, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for diagnostics.
  • Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and safety compliance.
  • Assist with start-up, testing, and validation of new or modified production lines.
  • Adhere to company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Record maintenance activities, parts usage, and downtime in CMMS.
  • Provide detailed reports on repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and reliability enhancements.
  • Participate in root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.



WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:



  • Environment conditions are subject to change throughout year.
  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature condition.
  • Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
  • Inside and outside environment apply
  • Subject to extreme cold; temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to extreme heat; temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour.
