Position Summary

TCW is a leading global asset management firm with more than five decades of investment experience and a broad range of products across fixed income, equities, emerging markets, and alternative investments. TCW's clients include many of the world's largest corporate and public pension plans, financial institutions, endowments and foundations, as well as financial advisors and high net worth individuals.

The Product Marketing for Alternatives Lead at TCW, your mission is to articulate and amplify our differentiated value proposition across the growing landscape of alternative investments. In this role, you will shape our go-to-market strategy for alternative credit including private credit, asset-backed finance (ABF) and other alternative strategies-developing compelling narratives and educating clients on complex structures. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, portfolio managers, distribution partners, and other marketing teams to position TCW's expanding alternatives platform effectively. Leveraging your understanding of private markets, credit instruments, and the evolving needs of institutional and wealth clients, you'll help drive growth, adoption, and brand equity for one of TCW's highest-priority segments.



Essential Duties

Vision and Strategy Development:

    Develop and execute a marketing vision for TCW's Alternatives platform, aligned with firm-wide strategic priorities.
  • Identify product growth opportunities across structures such as drawdown funds, BDCs, interval funds, private funds, and bespoke mandates.
  • Partner with PMs and product strategy to ensure marketing efforts support broader fundraising and product lifecycle objectives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the competitive landscape across private credit and alternative credit sectors.

Narratives and Messaging:

  • Craft powerful narratives that explain the role of alternative products in diversified portfolios, including their income potential, illiquidity premium, and structural considerations.
  • Translate complex investment and structural concepts (e.g., NAV frequency, capital calls, fund vintages, origination strategy) into client-accessible messaging.
  • Ensure consistency across internal and external communications, from fund launch decks to marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee the development of marketing content including brochures, pitch materials, digital content, and videos.

Go-to-Market Strategies:

  • Lead go-to-market planning for new fund launches and strategy expansions.
  • Ensure readiness across touchpoints-materials, messaging, digital assets, and sales enablement.
  • Support cross-platform storytelling, linking alternatives to broader TCW capabilities and macro narratives.
  • Drive adoption through targeted campaigns, ongoing education, and investor engagement programs.

Distribution and Digital Engagement:

  • Collaborate with distribution marketing to tailor content by channel (institutional consultants, intermediaries, RIA platforms, private wealth).
  • Leverage digital and PR channels to highlight differentiated strategies, manager access, and market opportunity.
  • Track engagement analytics and campaign performance to continually optimize marketing effectiveness.
  • Equip Sales teams with tools and training to support capital-raising efforts in alternative investment vehicles.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in product marketing or product strategy within asset management or private markets
  • Experience in alternatives, especially private credit, structured credit, or alternative credit vehicles
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Deep understanding of the asset management industry and its products
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Proficiency with marketing analytics tools

  • Ability to distill complex information into clear, concise messaging
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of fixed income markets, liquidity spectrum, interest rates and the various instruments such as bonds, treasury bills, corporate debt, municipal bonds, and mortgage-backed securities.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment


Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • CFA, CAIA, or progress toward a relevant designation a strong plus
  • FINRA Series 7, 24, 63/65/66 preferred

Estimated Compensation:

Base Salary: For NY based position, the base salary range is $175k - $200k. This is an anticipated range only.

Other Compensation: Eligible to be considered for an annual discretionary bonus
