Yoh has a 3-month
contract, as a Content Marketing Specialist
within a humanitarian/non profit Industry,

to jour client, Remote, requiring travel/driving to their chapters in Central and Southern Illinois,
role is based in Peoria, IL.


  • $30-35/hr. max hourly rate
  • 8:30AM-5PM, Mon-Friday


Reporting to the Communications Director for the IL region and focusing primarily on supporting the Illinois client chapters in the Quad Cities, Central Illinois/Peoria/Bloomington, South Central Illinois (Springfield/Decatur/Champaign) and Quincy this position works in close collaboration with the client lines of service to provide communications support for fundraising, disaster cycle, SAF, biomedical services, and volunteer management staff.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Serve as on-the-record spokesperson for Central Illinois chapters; pitch stories to local media.
  • Collaborate with local Executive Directors on media engagement.
  • Prepare and distribute press materials.
  • Lead and support disaster-related public affairs for Central and Southern Illinois chapters.
  • Execute regional social media strategy aligned with local priorities.
  • Create and publish written and photographic content for web, blog, and social platforms.
  • Travel as needed to cover events across Central and Southern Illinois.
  • Maintain strong relationships with regional media.
  • Coordinate media efforts with executives and staff across multiple markets.
  • Support executive-level communications in partnership with the Communications Director.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, blog posts, and articles using AP Style.


Who You Are
  • 4 year degree in Communications, Public Administration, Public Relations, Journalism or related degree.
  • 3-5 years expereince
  • Strong AP style writing expereince
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management
    skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer focus with a commitment to serving community needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Clear and professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to travel locally to chapters across Central and Southern Illinois as needed.
  • Based in Central or Southern Illinois; while the position is listed under the Peoria chapter, the home base is flexible within the region.
