Overview

The Learning & Inclusion Workforce Development team seeks a savvy and resourceful Project Specialist to help build our Strategic Engagement team. As a Project Specialist in Workforce Development, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing programs aimed at enhancing workforce skills and career development. Your responsibilities will include conducting needs assessments, developing training curricula, and facilitating workshops to support employee growth and organizational success. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including employers, educational institutions, and community organizations, to create engagement strategies. Your expertise in workforce planning, talent development, and program evaluation will be crucial in driving initiatives that foster a skilled and motivated workforce.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Develop a utility pipeline through business partnerships with educational institutions, including CUNY and SUNY universities, career technical educations schools, and local high schools.
  • Design and implement intern programs that promote continuous learning and integrate interns into the company's culture.
  • Manage and advance the company's WFD strategy and processes, including implementing methods to source qualified candidates to meet operating needs and proactive engagement with strategic partners.
  • Develop and implement Workforce Development (WFD) programs aimed at enhancing skills within the clean energy sector.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline, create, and manage Workforce Development (WFD) analytics that help monitor the effectiveness of programs and pipeline strategies.
  • Leverage technology, including SharePoint to establish a partnership portfolio to facilitate continuous communication with business partners.
  • Develop and execute a plan for using social media digital platforms to tactically market career opportunities.
  • Commitment to the Cultural Imperatives of Operational Excellence, Cost Management, creating a Plus 1 Customer Experience, and adheres to the Company's Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), discipline, and security.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workforce needs and objectives to strategize on how to source and build talent pipelines.
  • Plan and manage career fairs and WFD events with community partners and educational institutions including vocational and technical High Schools, community colleges. Travel required within service territory.
  • Provide strategic and cost-effective sourcing solutions aligned with customers current and future hiring needs.
  • Evaluate key performance indicators to identify areas for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree and and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience or
  • Associate's Degree and and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
Relevant Work Experience
  • Minimum of three years work experience related to project management, creating communications for impact, and visual communications, required.
  • Must be able to identify trends, perform follow-up analysis, and prepare visualizations, required.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Windows environments and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), required.
  • Must possess analytical and creative problem-solving skills to respond to and manage WFD demands, required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and evolving work environment, required.
  • Proficiency in MS Teams and PowerPoint for effective presentation and communication, required.
  • Knowledge of Workforce Development strategies, required.
