We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers Systems Engineer I - III available at multiple locations (National Capital Region, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA, Offutt AFB, Base, NE and Kirtland AFB, NM)

JOB SUMMARY:

Systems Engineer provides full time support to all activities for design, modeling, requirements, analysis and architecture of advanced technology and warfighting concepts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:



  • Analyzes product failures for root causes, proposes corrective actions, prepares failure and analysis report and maintains reliability control database on product success/failure history.
  • Utilizes statistical methods such as linear regression and standard deviation to evaluate compliance with reliability numerical requirements.
  • Participates in design reviews of new products and continues review of proposed changes affecting product baseline data.
  • Prepares reliability section of technical proposals, including manpower estimates and scheduling.
  • Reviews preliminary reports and waivers, deviations and engineering change proposals for compliance with contractual requirements
  • Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.
  • Builds knowledge of Group, its processes and customers.
  • Solves a range of straightforward problems. Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
  • Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
  • Performs a variety of engineering work in the development of an operable system capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints including mass, cost and schedule.
  • Designs and/or research subsystem interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete system.
  • Performs functional analysis of a system to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and to feed the analysis results back to the subsystem development teams.
  • Uses standard procedures in carrying out assignments associated with research, design, development or analysis of specific parts, components, interfaces, or minor phases of a project.
  • Coordinates with other technical personnel in solving technical problems, fabricating equipment, gathering information, formulating plans, designs, cost estimates and specifications.
  • Directs or conducts research studies necessary for the improvement or reconfiguration of systems or subsystems.
  • Serves as the customer interface and organizational consultant on significant issues requiring technical guidance, redirection or resolution. May participate as a team member of multiple teams; may act as primary intra-organizational liaison.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens capabilities.
  • Understands key industry drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
  • Has developed the foundational knowledge of DOD, Agency, and/or industry standards and engineering requirements.
  • No formal mentoring or advisory responsibilities; provides informal task guidance to new/less experienced team members.
  • Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies. Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.

May be entry level for those with an advanced degree. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:Active Secret required, TS/SCI preferred

TRAVEL: Up to 10%
