POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for operational cost management, oversight of financial analysis, and providing strategic insights to enhance business performance across various business units. This role will be responsible for advising on and executing departmental strategies that align with and support the broader objectives related to the employee, guest, and financial goals of the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Analyze and monitor operational costs to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements across various business units
  • Advise on and execute department strategies and tactics in support of the broader company objectives related to employees, guests and financial performance
  • Review and provide feedback and guidance over financial analysis and various other work performed by the Financial Analyst and Junior Financial Analyst positions, promoting a culture of growth and mentorship
  • Communicate complex financial concepts clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels
  • Conduct advanced financial analysis to support business decisions and strategies, using a data-driven approach
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the accounting shared service team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and solid business decision-making grounded in data
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by partnering with lines of business Managers and Directors as directed by the Director of Finance to evaluate opportunity and risk through data driven analysis and advisement on current economic trends and conditions
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a high degree of professional integrity, and be able to work in a safe, prudent manner, with minimal supervision
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to influence and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example. Track record of evaluating business processes, provide recommendations, and implement change management process for long lasting process improvements. Communicate financial concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand and drives desired behaviors
  • Ability and dedication to adapt to the seasonal business needs of the Resort is crucial. Collaboration and partnership with team members and colleagues will be required for successful change management, which is critical for success
  • Understands and meets the needs of key stakeholders, including the Resort Leadership Team, Resort employees, Shared Services Accounting Teams, and guests, as directed by the Director of Finance
  • Position will require a year to become fully familiar with the seasonal operations. After three months the role is expected to have established foundational relationships with key stakeholder audiences and have built trust with Finance Leadership. Throughout the learning period, this role is expected to ask probing questions to challenge the status quo
  • Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards


EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience is required.
  • Master's degree in Finance, including MSF, MBA or MAC is preferred
  • Professional certifications as CPA, CMA, CGMA or CFA is a preferred


The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives.

Steamboat area base salary range: $67,000 - $97,000 per year

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This is an onsite position, therefore not eligible for any extended remote based work. Requires ability to thrive in a mountainous, cold-weather climate. The role requires the ability to work a flexible schedule to accomplish all requirements and tasks.
