Essential Job Duties	Primary duties of the Research Specialist: Develop study protocols, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and drafting/writing/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. Manage and oversee daily laboratory operations, and assist in supervising and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research projects and industry collaborations.

Requirements and Preferences

Minimum Experience/Education	Relevant Master's degree or Relevant Bachelor's and 3 or more years of relevant experience, or relevant independent experience and education
Department Required Skills	Experience in food processing systems and ingredients technology Effective human relations skills are required to work with a variety of clientele and professional groups Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form with a variety of audiences
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education	M.sc in food science, food engineering, chemical engineering, or relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience Strong research skills and solid experience in advanced chemical analytical research, product development and food processing
Required License or Certification	Valid driver's license
Valid NC Driver's License required?	Yes
