Technology Services Group Inc. seeks a Vice President, Back-End Engineer II for its Wilmington, DE location. DUTIES: Consult with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Provide application software development services or technical support in more complex situations. Responsible for requirements gathering and BRD/SRD preparation and has a thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. Conduct reviews of the test Plan and test Data. Coordinate the technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. Analyze, define and document requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interface with other systems. Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementation and documentation. Design and develop backend features and components and scale the backend architecture and codebase to support growth. Reduce the level of technical debt of the backend codebase. Program well-designed, testable, efficient code and analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions. Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain). Actively participate in code reviews and integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Apply security and privacy principles and execute full lifecycle software development. Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems and ensure software is updated with latest features. Participate in deployment process following all change controls. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Leverage existing products/functionality and promote reuse. Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions. Utilize local meetups to gain and share knowledge and compile documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation in the financial services industry. Seven (7) years of experience must include: Developing high throughput microservices by leveraging concurrency, multi-core, multi-node solutions supporting multithreading, event-based processing and developing services to manage high data volume using KAFKA technologies; Developing microservice and highly interactive web application leveraging Java, Spring boot, Angular/Typescript, SQL, and Oracle in development of complete platforms including both user-side front-end and back-end services; Analyzing the needs of an organization and producing an effective database system according to the business needs and specifications including collecting and analyzing the data, designing algorithms, drawing flowcharts, and implementing code by creating and maintaining complex stored procedures, views, triggers, and tables; Utilizing Agile methodology and participating in the full software development life cycle, developing software verification plans and quality assurance procedures; Troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems, ensuring the software is updated with the latest features; and Leading the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems following software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, DevOps processes - CI/CD tools, Git, Monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, and Splunk.
