DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Worker 1, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of various areas. Some of the common hospital housekeeping duties you will perform include mopping, vacuuming, and sweeping floors; cleaning windows; dusting furniture; and properly disposing of waste. You will also be responsible for restocking supplies and ensuring that bathrooms are well-maintained. Additionally, you may be required to refinish floors and perform deep cleaning of rooms as needed. Another important responsibility is to stock clean linens and distribute them in designated areas. Your dedication to maintaining a clean environment is essential in achieving our goal of providing quality health care and promoting wellness for all.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are available on the following shifts:
    • 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute (11:00 AM to 11:30 AM) lunch
    • 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM; Sunday - Wednesday, and Saturday; with a 30-minute (6:00 PM to 6:30 PM) lunch
    • 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday - Sunday, with a 30-minute (6:00 PM to 6:30 PM) lunch.
    • May change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
