The Communications Specialist will lead and support communication strategy initiatives and address the needs of various business partners within the company. This role involves creating both long-term and short-term communication strategies and turning innovative ideas into reality through collaboration with internal teams. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, passionate, energetic, organized, and articulate, with the ability to craft clear messages that promote the culture and mission of Vivint.

This position reports to the Manager, Corporate Communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess and execute on communication needs within the National Inside Sales (NIS) organization. This includes ongoing, ad-hoc, and campaign-based communication initiatives.
  • Act as the main communications point-of-contact for NIS.
  • Support a range of clients across Vivint, offering consultation on projects and providing strategic direction and communication execution.
  • Deliver on monthly communications packages for incentives that include but are not limited to department-specific: slide decks, 1-pagers, digital signage graphics, email campaigns, printed posters.
  • Strategize and execute on the executive voice and presence of the Vice President.
  • Create and collaborate with leaders to deliver a weekly staff deck.
  • Manage NIS video communications projects, including scripting, filming, editing, and distribution, and implement strategic video plans. For larger projects, coordinating with Creative and stakeholders for budget and execution.
  • Manage the content on digital signage and work cross-functionally with the Data and Tech teams to ensure digital signage is functioning properly.
  • Attend meetings with NIS and Corporate teams.
  • Maintain continuity of voice, feel, and style of content.
  • Enhance the culture by developing relationships with all employee groups and implementing communication strategies that connect employees to each other and the business.
  • Support the planning and execution of internal events, including Town Halls, and other activities.
  • Develop and manage content for internal communication channels, such as the intranet, digital tools, video and photo, communication slides, email campaigns, digital signage, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Keep up to date with company, industry, and business trends, and offer recommendations based on these insights.
  • Take initiative in your work, think innovatively, and be a positive influence on the team.
  • Make recommendations and proactively implement new communications ideas, projects, platforms, etc.
  • Identify communication strategies that are underperforming and improve or replace them with new ideas.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of proven experience in communications, with a preference for Internal Communications, Content Production/Creation, Graphic Design, Public Relations, or Media Relations.
  • Expertise in producing high-quality videos, including proficiency with video technology and tools such as camera equipment, editing software, and web and mobile applications. Photography skills are a plus.
  • Graphic design skills are a plus.
  • A degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Strong skills in planning and project management.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, and Canva.
  • Experienced with web-based platforms like WordPress and SharePoint, with basic knowledge of HTML.
  • Demonstrated ability as a self-starter and proactive individual, adept at managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team, interacting effectively with all levels of management.
  • Familiarity with Associated Press Style guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record of handling confidential information.
  • Adaptable to rapid changes and tight deadlines.
