Paint Equipment Setup Operator
Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Equipment Setup Operator/Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of paint and wastewater treatment systems. What You Will Do:

Paint Equipment Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate painting, cleaning, and testing systems including electrostatic, bulk storage, electro deposition, and metal pre-treatment systems

  • Perform chemical and physical testing (e.g., pH, titration, viscosity, conductivity, temperature, voltage) to maintain paint system quality

  • Record and maintain data on test results and production activity

  • Adjust equipment to maintain required paint film thickness, texture, gloss, and adhesion

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on painting equipment

  • Set up and maintain powder paint booths and manual parts washers

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition

  • Monitor parts for defects and report recurring issues to supervisors

Wastewater Treatment Responsibilities:

  • Monitor gauges, pumps, valves, and control systems in treatment stations

  • Perform lab sampling and testing to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal wastewater regulations

  • Operate and maintain sewage pump stations and water quality monitoring equipment

  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on treatment equipment

  • Record operational and laboratory data for regulatory and internal reporting

  • Support ISO, EPA, and city inspections as required

What We Look For:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least 1 year of related experience in manufacturing or utility operations preferred

  • Forklift license (or ability to obtain)

  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical instructions

  • Experience using measurement tools such as micrometers, tape measures, and scales

  • Preferred experience in wastewater utilities or paint system maintenance

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (with assistance for heavier loads)

  • Frequent standing, bending, climbing stairs, pushing, and pulling

  • Ability to raise arms overhead and perform repetitive motion tasks

  • Visual acuity and attention to detail required for equipment setup and inspection

  • Ability to work in industrial conditions (heat, noise, chemicals) for extended shifts
