Job Description

The Food and Beverage Leader-in-Development (LID) program is a 12-month program designed to develop graduates into successful managers in the division they wish to pursue. The Food and Beverage LID will spend 40 hours each week working within the department and 7.5 hours completing Learning Commitments throughout the training property. Learning Commitments are projects that will allow LIDs to learn about general hotel operations, as well as the details and functions of their division. Each commitment will provide resources and evaluation criteria.



Responsibilities

    Responsible for assigned shift, assisting in overall management.
  • Assist in overall supervision of the department as outlined in the manager's job description.
  • Follow up on established training steps.
  • Handle guest comments and complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Communicate with guests and receive feedback.
  • Stay on the floor during peak hours.
  • Observe, teach and correct staff's service.
  • Assist manager in; scheduling, completing weekly payroll, and forecasting both weekly and monthly.
  • Monitor the flow of business at the pools, kids camp and other recreation areas, ensuring prompt response to guest concerns, reservation requests, and issues.
  • Maintain the safety of all guests in the recreation areas, ensuring, for example lifeguards are deployed and trained correctly and kids camp attendants are properly monitoring and supervising children.
  • Participate in interviewing new employees as needed.
  • Prepare maintenance request and follow-up.
  • Will be responsible for meeting with Division head weekly, Director of Human Resources each month and corporate mentor bi-monthly

Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in Recreation or Food and Beverage Supervision or Management is preferred.
  • Must be willing to work 47.5 hours per week with a flexible schedule.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and is customer service oriented with a sincere, helpful, caring, and friendly personality.
  • Projects enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude at all times
  • Pays precise attention to detail, order, and cleanliness.
  • Has outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and an exceptional phone manner.
  • Able to adapt in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment within a dynamic work schedule.
  • Willingness to relocate upon program completion to ensure timely promotion to a management role.

**NECESSARY LICENSES/ CERTIFICATIONS***

  • TIPS Alcohol Certification is required upon hire.
  • Current certification of First Aid, CPR, AED, and Child Abuse/Neglect class. If not complete, La Costa will provide within 30 days of hire. Lifeguard certification available if interested.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must constantly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay Rate: $67,000k (overtime eligible manager)
