DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the facility operates smoothly. You will be responsible for tasks and repairs related to carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and concrete and brick work. Your responsibilities will include maintaining over 40 buildings, spanning 152 acres of land, at our facility. This position requires a diverse skill set and a self-motivated, independent mindset to successfully complete assignments and continuously learn new skills. You will be working under the direct supervision of the Facility Operations Supervisor of the Maintenance Trades Section of the Facility Services Department. Your work will involve repairing and maintaining various elements of the buildings, such as roofs and flashing; insulation; overhead doors; windows and screens; interior and exterior doors; base, door, and window moldings; drywall and spackling; interior and exterior painting; wallpaper; drop ceiling tiles and gridwork; and interior and exterior handrails. Your efforts will ensure the proper functioning of the facility and the safety of consumers, employees, and visitors.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will be required to work every 12th weekend, with on-call holidays as assigned. There is a 12-person weekend work rotation.
- This position is considered essential during weather and other emergency events.
- Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
