CBIZ is seeking a Benefits Manager to support the administration of company-sponsored benefit programs, including the Cafeteria Plan, health plans, and voluntary health and welfare offerings. You play a key role in ensuring we provide quality benefit plans and total rewards to our people that focus on all aspects of employee wellbeing. This position will join our collaborative Total Rewards team and report to our Sr. Manager of Benefits. You may serve as a career advisor to other members of the benefits team. Regular interaction with internal stakeholders and external vendors is a key part of this position.
Essential Functions and Primary Duties:
*Serve as a subject matter expert on all group and voluntary benefit plans; support HR Business Partners and employees with benefit-related inquiries.
*Create and manage employee communications for benefit initiatives, including announcements, resources, newsletters, and support materials.
* Ensure all communications align with corporate branding and benefit-specific initiatives.
* Maintain organized records of all benefits communications, documents, and forms within the team's shared drive.
*Promote consistent benefit plan administration by developing systems to track escalated cases and key processes, and ensuring archived information is easily accessible.
*Keep all benefit-related postings up to date and compliant.
*Build working knowledge of HCM and payroll systems to support benefits operations.
*Assist with system audits, data corrections, and process improvements to strengthen benefit/payroll integration.
*Gain expertise in the COBRA administrator's systems and processes, with a focus on eligibility and billing.
*Support the review and maintenance of COBRA-related systems and help identify and correct errors.
*Track benefit plan changes throughout the year and draft updates to the Benefits Guide, forms, and communications
*Lead or support the annual open enrollment process from planning through execution.
*Ensure compliance on a broad range of applicable laws including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FSAs, HSAs, ACA and other state and federal laws.
*Conduct regular reconciliations between carrier invoices, HCM data, and payroll deductions.
*Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Requirements:
* PHR/SPHR certification
* Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience as a subject matter expert and 2 years of increasingly responsible management experience.
* Experience with Oracle HCM
Minimum Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree with 2 years of increasingly responsible HR management experience preferred or high school diploma or GED with 5 years experience as strong HR generalist background required
* PHR/SPHR preferred
* Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
* Demonstrated ability in negotiation and conflict resolution
* Proficient use of applicable technology
* Strong organizational skills, ability to multi -tasking and prioritize
* Must have attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
* Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
