Job Description

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Applied Science Biogas Technician opportunity. The Applied Science Biogas Technician will work in a team environment to accomplish the operations and maintenance objectives identified by Seaboard Foods Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Management. They are responsible for the safe operation and monitoring of technical processes, data gathering with analytical support, and lagoon biological regulations of the RNG facilities including mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Monitor, operate, and maintain the RNG facilities both in the field and from a control room.
  • Identify issues and make the necessary changes to ensure steady operations of the facilities.
  • Understand and support Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment goals and objectives, and on-going improvement plans and activities.
  • Perform work orders and ensure all work is done in accordance with established safety rules.
  • Perform calibrations and repair of PH sensors, Pressure, Level, Temperature and Flow indicators, switches, positioners, and transmitters.
  • Gather data and report analytical findings.
  • Manage lagoon biological health regulations in collaboration with the business intelligence and management teams.
  • Ensure proper record keeping of calibrations in equipment data files.
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain fresh water and effluent systems, air systems, heat exchangers, and pumps
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain compressors, motors, pumps, and valves associated with operations.
  • Must be able to diagnose and repair electrical power and control systems.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:



  • Associate's degree, technical school diploma, or related degree program/field. 2 years related experience with 1 year in chemical, petrochemical, or gas-liquid processing plant environment.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and address inquiries with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Theoretical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable MVR.


Preferred:



  • Previous experience in the gas compression field.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret in the English language correspondence, general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, or reports.



SCHEDULE

The Applied Science Biogas Technician will be on a rotation schedule. The schedule follows a 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation, working Thursday through Wednesday. This position includes an on-call rotation for nights and weekends. The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and may change at the discretion of management to fit business needs. Occasionally, overtime or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

  • Work environment varies from an indoor control room to remote locations which may have extreme hot or cold climate conditions, dependent upon the situation and business needs.
  • Noise level varies depending upon which area of production the employee is working.
